Risk Analysis of Chili Pepper Farming Production in Mantewe District, Tanah Bumbu Regency

Abstract

Innovation in cultivation systems, one of which is through the transition from the Transplanting System (TAPIN) to a more efficient method, namely the Direct Seed Sowing System (TABELA). The purpose of this study is to analyze the costs, income and differences in income of rice farmers using the Transplanting System (TAPIN) and Direct Seed Sowing (TABELA) in Kusan Tengah District. The data used are primary data obtained from rice farmers using the TAPIN and TABELA systems through interviews. Data analysis uses an approach to calculating production costs, revenue, income and the t-test (independent-samples t-test). The results of the study showed that the total costs incurred by farmers in rice farming using the TAPIN system were Rp. 29,855,442/farm or Rp. 14,399,731/ha, with the income obtained by farmers amounting to Rp. 41,879,333/farm or Rp. 20,199,035/ha and farmer income amounting to Rp. 34,516,933/farm or Rp. 16,648,039/ha, while the total costs incurred by rice farmers using the TABELA system were Rp. 30,804,766/farm or Rp. 11,939,839/ha, with the income obtained by farmers amounting to Rp. 50,676,667/farm or Rp. 19,642,119/ha and farmer income amounting to Rp. 41,267,789/farm or Rp. 15,995,267/ha. Based on the results of the t-test (independent-samples t-test), there is no difference in income between rice farmers using the Transplanting System (TAPIN) and Direct Seed Planting (TABELA) in Kusan Tengah District.
